Stacking the Shelves (2)

A weekly recap on the blog that features books you've gotten this week hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Did I mention how much I love my local library? Well, if not, I do. I love my library very much. We have a wonderful YA section with new releases coming in every month. Ever since Borders closed, I haven't really been buying many books. We have a great indie bookstore, but their YA section is small enough to fit on one bookshelf. Oh, the horror!

From the Library:

From left to right, top to bottom:
Bunheads by Sophie Flack
Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen
Dark Eyes by William Richter
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
If I Die by Rachel Vincent
The Shamer's Daughter by Lene Kaaberbol
The Nine Lives of Chloe King by Celia Thomson

  3. Oh, I am sooo happy to see you got If I Die from your library!!! It's my absolute favorite in the Soul Screamers series!!! I actually just posted my review/thoughts about it for the Soul Screamers Reading Challenge!!! I really hope you'll love it as much as I do. :D

I love the cover for Dark Eyes! I'll definitely have to check it out. I've been meaning to read The Near Witch as well, but my library doesn't carry it. As for bookstores, we have a "book trader" but the YA section isn't very big either. *sigh* Anyway, HURRAY for libraries!!! :D

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!!!

  4. Fabulous haul! :D I haven't read any of these, but I've heard fantastic things about them. I'm particularly interested in Scarlet. Robin Hood? Badass female protagonist? Very much yes.

I hope you enjoy all of these!

  8. The Nine Lives of Chloe King is actually pretty good. Well, when I read it. I don't know if my tastes have changed now. :( But I'm really jealous of If I Die and The Near Witch. I agree with you on the library stuff because my parents are always not letting me buy books, but my library's doing a lot better with the new-releases stuff! :)

Check out my Stacking the Shelves!

  11. Libraries rock! I know I don't make nearly good enough use of mine - probably because of my book buying addiction! Though a bookstore with only one YA shelf is no bueno. Good to know that at least you've made great use of your local library though! I've heard especially good things about The Near Witch and Scarlet - both received a great amount of buzz - though I haven't actually had the chance to read them myself! Hope you enjoy all your reads!

  16. Your library sounds amazing indeed. I love my library too but sadly it's small and the YA section is lacking. They do order in everything I ask for though! :) Great haul this week. I've been hearing amazing things about Scarlet.
